Should I use secure or insecure logon?

If your browser supports 'SSL' (secure sockets layer), a secure logon 'encrypts' the information passed between your computer and the web server, and performs other security tasks such as ensuring that this site is the 'true and original' ATF web portal.

Important!
This website uses the highest available encryption method (128 Bit). Until recently, this was not available outside the United States. Your browser may not support this. If this is the case, your browser will present you with an error message when you attempt to use the secure sockets feature.

If your browser is unable to use this level of encryption, updates are available from Microsoft (for Internet Explorer) and Netscape for free. Go to these sites and download the update or browser which most closely matches your requirements. Instructions for download and installation are provided at these sites. We recommend and use Internet Explorer from Microsoft.

If you choose to log on securely, information passed between your computer and ther web server cannot be easily intercepted and interpreted by a third party. This comes at a cost, however. You will notice a significant degredation in performance.

Once you have logged in, you may switch between secure and 'insecure' modes at will and at any time by using the menu item under 'my details'.
